    2. Arsenal duo Mikel Arteta and Raheem Sterling previously worked together at Manchester City, who they now face on Sunday. This is how one coached the other into an attacking machine.Source Link
    3. Argentina shock world champions South Africa in 29-28 win Los Pumas closing in on unlikely first Rugby Championship title Flyhalf Tomas Albornoz kicked a penalty 11 minutes from the end to hand Argentina a thrilling 29-28 victory over South Africa and keep their hopes of winning the Rugby Championship alive in a blisteringly hot Santiago del Estero on Saturday.
The world champion Springboks, who had the chance to win the game with a late penalty from flyhalf Manie Libbok that was missed, lead the table with 19 points from second-placed Argentina on 14 points ahead of a final meeting between the sides in Nelspruit next Saturday where the title will be decided.

    4. Former champion suffers fifth-round knockout Dubois keeps his IBF heavyweight title Anthony Joshua suffered a shocking knockout loss to Daniel Dubois, his far less celebrated British rival, on an extraordinary night at Wembley Stadium. It was a crushing defeat for Joshua who was knocked down in the first round and then utterly dominated and sent repeatedly to the canvas. The brutal end was finally sealed in the fifth round when, just as Joshua tried to turn the tide of a one-sided beating, Dubois landed two shattering right hands which resulted in a conclusive stoppage.
Even though Dubois was the nominal IBF world heavyweight champion, he walked to the ring first in a clear sign that he was meant to play a supporting role to the Joshua Show in front of 96,000 fans. Dubois had never experienced such a searing atmosphere before but he looked composed and determined as he climbed through the ropes. But he had a long wait before his more exalted rival joined him.

    6. A goalless draw at the Etihad last season cast Arsenal as frontrunners but they need to better balance aggression with defence
It is the nature of the modern Premier League, in which 90 points has come to feel like a basic minimum to win the title, that analysis of how the league was won tends to focus on where it was lost. Manchester City’s excellence has become so relentless that the assumption is they will surpass 90 points. The question is less about anything they have done than whether other teams could have done anything to overhaul that total.
In that context, the mind goes back to the final day of March last season, and Arsenal’s trip to Manchester City. Liverpool had beaten Brighton earlier in the day, giving them a three-point lead over Arsenal and four over City, having played a game more. Arsenal were content to frustrate City, drawing 0-0.

    7. 2nd Metro Bank ODI: Aus 270; Eng 202. Aus win by 68 runs Harry Brook’s team stumble to second loss in a row If this ODI seemed a match too far, in a series too many, a month too late, then no one told the Headingley faithful on Saturday morning. They squashed on to trains to Burley Park and into the ungainly stands, a sell-out crowd roasting in the unexpected September heat on the Western Terrace’s open seats. They were in enthusiastic voice too – at least for the first few hours until the game swung.
With gallows enthusiasm, most stayed for England’s innings, a start-stop affair in light that faded alongside their chances, as Harry Brook’s inexperienced 50-over side were walloped by 68 runs. Australia reaped the reward of Glenn Maxwell, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc’s return to go 2-0 up in the five-match series.

    8. Erik ten Hag never does things the easy way. The Manchester United manager had complimented Marcus Rashford’s improved attitude but left him on the bench and then watched his replacement, Alejandro Garnacho, fail to find a way past the outstanding Dean Henderson, who was inspired against his former club.
By the time Rashford made it on to the pitch in the second half, a strangely off-colour Crystal Palace had finally woken up and United needed a brilliant double save from André Onana to avoid a second successive defeat in south London against Oliver Glasner’s side. Lisandro Martínez was fortunate to escape a red card for a reckless challenge on Daichi Kamada but at least this was a much-improved display from the 4-0 debacle here in May that was the low point of last season under Ten Hag, with United’s defence standing firm in the face of late pressure.

    9. Driver quiet in press conference after swearing row Lando Norris first after qualifying; Verstappen second Max Verstappen is never one to back down from a fight and the Dutchman duly squared up to the FIA with a barbed and very public protest by all but refusing to answer questions in the press conference after qualifying for the Singapore Grand Prix.
The world champion’s displeasure at the Formula One’s governing body and its president, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, over a punishment meted out on Friday for swearing was unmistakable at the Marina Bay circuit and he was supported by pole-sitter Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton, who finished third in qualifying.

    10. Exeter 14-17 Leicester Late try launches Cheika’s tenure as coach with victory Leicester are hoping Michael Cheika will guide them back to the sunlit uplands and their luck is already beginning to change. With the clock in the red and the visitors down to 14 men after the dismissal of centre Solomone Kata it seemed Exeter had done enough to secure a hard-earned victory only for a last-gasp Tigers’ driving maul to steal a clinching score for the Wales flanker Tommy Reffell.
The former Wallaby head coach was delighted by the resilience his side showed in staying in a contest that had seemed over when Chiefs led 14-3 with 17 minutes left. The Tigers are not remotely the finished article but their lineout and maul kept them in the game and Exeter were made to pay a heavy price for not killing off their opponents when they had the chance.

    11. Italian takes three-shot lead with three birdies to finish McIlroy, in second, lauds leader’s ‘amazing’ return to top Were he not trying to scratch an itch of his own, Rory McIlroy would be rooting for Matteo Manassero on the final day here.
In the 11 years since Manassero prevailed at the PGA Championship, he has endured a slump that took him to 1,805th in the world and mini tours.
