    6. Arrowhead Game Studios is not holding back as they are determined to make Helldivers 2 great once again. The first major update for the game, Escalation of Freedom, turned out to be a disaster as players were left extremely disappointed. After its failure, Arrowhead devised a new plan to fix the game in just 60 days. Initially, it seemed impossible but the latest patch confirms that Arrowhead is taking players’ feedback seriously.
The Automaton Assault Walker might be added to Helldivers 2 very soon (Image via IronS1ghts on Reddit) The latest patch improved various weapons and Stratagems, and Johan Pilestedt, Arrowhead’s CCO, has confirmed that this is just the beginning. The studio is not only focusing on reworking the existing elements but also on new content, as a new leaked picture reveals that a terrifying new Automaton unit will join the faction soon.
Leaked Image Suggests That A New Automaton Unit Is Coming To Helldivers 2
The Automaton Assault Walker is bigger than most Automaton units (Image via IronS1ghts on Reddit) Reddit user IronS1ghts, who has shared various Helldivers 2 leaked images in the past, has shared another leaked image on the r/HellDiversLeaks subreddit. The leaker has revealed that a new unit called Automaton Assault Walker is coming to the game and will fill the gap between heavy and super-heavy units.

This unit is expected to be an Impaler equivalent, and fans suspect that it is equipped with a railgun. In terms of size, this unit is bigger than a Scout Strider and smaller than a Factory Strider. Fighting the Automaton faction is already difficult for many players and if this unit joins the faction, things will get much more chaotic.
Arrowhead Game Studios’ Plan To Save Helldivers 2 Is Working
Helldivers 2 lost a major chunk of its fanbase (Image via Arrowhead Game Studios) The latest patch for Helldivers 2, 01.001.100, is exactly what the community wanted. For the past few months, the hype for Helldivers 2 has been declining at an alarming rate. Players started to criticize the game because Arrowhead nerfed various weapons and Stratagems. The game became boring and repetitive, forcing many players to uninstall the game.
Related Helldivers 2 Giving Automaton Hulks Their Own Jetpack is a Scary Proposition
On top of this, Arrowhead and Sony’s plan to impose the PSN account linking policy completely backfired. As a result, the game was bombarded with negative reviews on Steam, however, the reviews are now looking positive.
The Escalation of Freedom update was the turning point for Arrowhead as they realized they had been focusing on the wrong elements all this time. The studio decided to come up with a 60-day plan to fix the game using players’ feedback and so far, things are looking good.
The recent patch was enough to convince many players to return to the game but that’s not everything. Johan Pilestedt, Arrowhead’s CCO, recently confirmed that they will buff other items in the future patches as well.

    7. Rumors about the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 have been swirling around for the past couple of years, which is quite understandable considering the fact that the company’s unique original hybrid console debuted way back in 2018. Even upon its debut, Switch was supposed to be a complete generation behind PlayStation 5 and Xbox, so gamers have been waiting for hardware overhaul.
The upcoming Switch successor will feature 256 GB of storage. (Image via Nintendo) In the last couple of months, we’ve seen a number of Switch 2 leaks cropping up online. So far, the upcoming handheld looks to be promising, but its storage options have concerned many gamers. However, unlike PlayStation 5, less storage won’t be an issue for Switch 2 due to Nintendo’s clever strategy.
Nintendo Switch 2’s Low Storage is Perfect For the Handheld
Switch 2’s low storage won’t be a problem like that of PlayStation 5. (Image via Nintendo) Switch 2’s design and specs were recently leaked on GamingLeaksandRumors on Reddit. According to the reports, the upcoming handheld will feature 12 GB of RAM at 75000 MT/s speeds. What’s interesting is that the console’s storage will be limited to 256 GB.
Related Nintendo Switch 2 Price Leak Rumor is Why We are Laughing at PS5 Pro Right Now
Usually, this would be a concern for consoles like PlayStation 5 and Xbox. In recent years, we’ve seen games getting bigger and bigger for a number of reasons, which proves to be troublesome for gamers who are using the base version of the consoles.
However, it’s an entirely different case for the upcoming Switch console. The low storage works perfectly due to the fact that Nintendo games aren’t that demanding. As proven with the original Switch, the company does an incredible job at optimizing its first-party titles since they are pretty small when it comes to file sizes.
256 GB of storage on a base PlayStation 5 would limit you to two or three AAA games. However, for that much storage on Switch 2, you could probably download 10-15 games that will completely blow you away. You won’t have to worry about running out of space with this one.
When is The Next Switch Handheld Coming Out?
The Switch successor won’t be released this financial year. (Image via The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Nintendo) Now that Switch’s successor is all but confirmed, gamers are left wondering when the console might drop, and it looks like it is going to be a long while before the console hits the shelves.

According to Eurogamer, several Nintendo developers have revealed that the Switch successor can’t be expected to debut this financial year. This clears some of the recent rumors that suggest that the console will be announced in the summer before getting shipped closer to the holiday season.
Based on these comments, we can expect that the earliest the Switch successor could debut is in April 2025, but whether or not that’s the case remains to be seen.
If the company follows the trajectory it set for the previous console’s announcement, there’s a good chance that the Switch 2 could be revealed in late 2024 before confirming a mid-2025 release date for next year. The current version of the console was announced back in October 2016 before releasing in March 2017.
With that said, are you excited about the next generation of Switch consoles? If so, let us know in the comments below.

    8. There’s no doubt that Palworld is one of the biggest success stories of 2024. However, when the game initially debuted, concerns were raised that the title featured Pals that looked quite similar to existing Pokemon and that some of its features might be too similar to what’s been established by the legendary franchise.
Pocketpair has finally responded to the copyright infringement lawsuit. (Image via Pocketpair) Some believed that the gaming giant would eventually sue Palworld developer, Pocketpair, over the similarities between the IPs, and now that’s finally happening. The studio has responded to the lawsuit, but if things go south, this could prove to be a huge disaster for the upcoming Switch 2.
Palworld Developers Respond to Infringement Lawsuit
On September 18th, Nintendo and The Pokemon Company decided to file a patent infringement lawsuit in the Tokyo District Court against Palworld’s developer Pocketpair.
Related Palworld Is Not Going Free-To-Play, Atleast for now as Studio Clears up Rumors and Reveals the Game “Was Never Designed With That Model in Mind”
The lawsuit looks for an injunction against infringements and compensation damages on the grounds that Pocketpair’s game infringes multiple patent rights. The industry giant states that it will take any necessary action possible against infringement of its intellectual property rights.
Palworld isn’t going down without a fight. In a statement on Twitter/X, developer Pocketpair acknowledged the lawsuit and stated its intent to defend the game. The development team focused its message on the impact on the game development and apologized to its player base, leaning into its underdog status in this legal battle.
Response to the Pocketpair’s statement is overwhelmingly supportive. It seems like fans of the games simply can’t understand why Nintendo would spend its time taking down indie developers instead of innovating their own IPs. Seriously, the Pokemon games clearly feel outdated, with horrendous mechanics and gameplay mechanics.
The Japanese company’s decision to go after Pocketpair has generated a lot of negative buzz around the company. This comes at a point when Switch 2 leaks are taking the industry by storm. If it doesn’t drop this petty lawsuit, it could further damage its reputation and even lead to gamers outright boycotting Switch 2 to express their frustrations.
It will be interesting to see how this entire situation unfolds in the coming weeks and potentially months.
Pocketpair is Gearing Up For a 1.0 Release
Palworld might be finally getting a 1.0 release. (Image via Pocketpair) Recently, it was reported that Palworld might be finally announced for PlayStation consoles at the Tokyo Game Show. If this does end up happening, it could mean that massive changes are coming to the title. Currently, the game is only available in Early Access. However, PlayStation consoles don’t have an early access program like Steam or Xbox.
Related Palworld, Helldivers 2, Concord and More All Already Beaten By Black Myth: Wukong in Proof It’s Going to be 2024’s Biggest Game
This likely means that if the game ends up being released on PlayStation consoles, a full 1.0 release will be released soon. In recent months, Pocketpair has done a phenomenal job updating the monster-catching game. These updates have resolved long-standing issues and brought tons of exciting additions.
A full 1.0 release alongside a port for Sony’s consoles will breathe fresh life into the game and help pull in millions of gamers to the game once again.
It’s crucial to keep your expectations in check, though, as Pocketpair hasn’t yet said anything related to the PlayStation port, and the legal battle with Nintendo could lead to the developer pushing back its plans.
With that said, what do you think about Pocketpair’s legal battle against the industry giant? Let us know in the comments below.

    9. Recent leaks from a Chinese factory could give reason to speculate that Nintendo’s upcoming Switch 2 may include a second screen. The images, which surfaced online, show prototype hardware and detailed specs of the highly anticipated console.
The Switch 2 has been a long time coming. | Image Credit: Nintendo The main focus here is the two type C ports, which while unlikely, could support a second external screen. While Nintendo has not confirmed these details, fans are already speculating whether the ports could mean a second screen or just more peripheral attachments. On the off chance that it’s real, the Switch 2 could redefine handheld gaming.
Here Come The Nintendo Switch 2 Leaks And Theories
A second screen on the Switch 2 would open up so many different possibilities. Image Credits: Nintendo Leaked images from a Chinese website have fueled much of the speculation surrounding the Switch 2’s design. These photos allegedly depict factory prototypes of the console, featuring an 8-inch screen and a USB-C port on both the top and bottom of the device.
However, it’s the ports and possible features that stand out. The Switch 2 may include two USB-C ports, one at the bottom and another at the top. This has sparked theories that the second port could be for connecting an external display, allowing for a dual-screen experience. The idea evokes memories of the Nintendo DS, but this time with the possibility of a detachable second screen
Related Is Nintendo’s 9-Month Wait to Sue Palworld Part of a Grand Switch 2 Campaign?
Some speculate it may be used for backward compatibility with DS or 3DS games, while others believe Nintendo might be cooking up something even better. Whether or not it’s true, one thing that will interest you is the rumored release price of $400. In an era where staples like PlayStation have just gotten burned for higher pricing (PS5 Pro we’re looking at you), it’s a nice thing to see.
Nintendo has yet to officially respond to these leaks or provide any confirmation about the Switch 2’s features. However, the timing of the leaks, combined with other rumors might mean that an official announcement could be imminent.
Aside From Speculations The Leaked Specs Look Good Too
Better performance on games like Tears of The Kingdom would be sweet. | Image Credit: Nintendo These new leaks have been accompanied but a lot of other details, including a leaked spec sheet which confirms big upgrades in performance. The most notable spec is the jump from 4GB of RAM in the original Switch to 12GB in the Switch 2, a massive upgrade that could pave the way for more graphically intensive games.

Additionally, the leaks point to support for FullHD resolution on an 8-inch display, suggesting a larger, clearer screen than the original model. The Switch was already lagging behind in terms of performance when it first came out. But now it might be a real competitor performance-wise.
The leak also points to potential changes in the Joy-Con controllers. The current snap-on rail system seems to have been replaced by a magnetic attachment method, allowing for a more seamless connection between the controllers and the main console.
While no official confirmation has been made, the price of the Switch 2 is rumored to be around $400. Some leaks indicate that the system will be available in two SKUs—one that supports physical cartridges and another, potentially cheaper, digital-only version.
What do you make of these leaks? Should Nintendo just announce it already? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!

    10. The much-anticipated God of War Ragnarök is finally on PC, and players can enjoy the game’s immersive narrative and rich gameplay experience in all its glory. However, with the PC launch, Santa Monica Studio is going one step further by introducing new features that will soon be available on the console versions as well: the much-needed Reduced puzzle hints option and the Cinematic Audio Description.
The developers are launching Ragnarök on PC with two additional features. | Image Credit: Santa Monica Studio Out of the two, players are much more excited about Reduced Puzzle hints options. For years, fans of the series always wanted to reduce the hints that pop up during moments of critical thinking. This not only distracts players but also ruins the immersion. But with the PC launch, the developers are finally addressing the issue and will be available to the PC players right away with the launch.
God of War PC Elevates Player Agency and Immersion
The much-anticipated reduced puzzle hints option is getting added to the PC version (soon on consoles) | Image Credit: Santa Monica Studio The God of War series is beloved for its rich storytelling and intricate gameplay, which includes a variety of puzzles that challenge players’ problem-solving skills. While fans appreciate the depth of these puzzles, for a long time they were frustrated with the frequency of hints (coming from companions) that the game naturally provides and were asking for a toggle.
It looks like Santa Monica Studio finally listened, and with the release of God of War Ragnarök on PC, they are releasing the said toggle, appropriately named: The reduced puzzle hints option. This option allows players to customize the frequency and visibility of hints that appear during puzzle-solving.

By adjusting this setting according to their liking, players can now engage with the game’s challenges in more depth, creating a more authentic experience that rewards those who are good at critical thinking and exploration.
For some, this might not be the most important feature but for those who enjoy a hands-on approach to gameplay and seek out challenges, this will empower them to immerse themselves in the narrative and world-building of Ragnarök, without the distraction and constant nudge of excessive guidance. Additionally, this feature will allow flexibility to the new players, ensuring that they can enjoy the game in the way they prefer.

The developers actually listened to the players’ feedback and released the feature. | Image Credit: Santa Monica Studio The initial reception for God of War Ragnarök on PC is overwhelmingly positive and players are enjoying the intricate narrative of Norse mythology. Additionally, with the other feature, Cinematic Audio Description, players are ready to dive even deeper into the game’s world which is filled with rich lore and adventure.
As PC players prepare themselves to embark on their epic journey through the Norse mythos, they can now do so with a sense of agency, ready to face the challenges that await them, without the frustrating pop-ups.
In the end, whether players are swinging their axe to defeat enemies or solving ancient riddles to obtain items, the game is poised to deliver an experience that will feel both fresh and familiar, all while respecting the intelligence and passion of its player base.

    11. Thanks to a series of surprising revelations, it seems that Bungie’s upcoming PvP extraction shooter, Marathon, is taking a page out of Arrowhead Game Studios’ book rather than learning from the recent missteps of its Sony stablemate, Firewalk Studios.
Despite the high-profile failure of Concord, which launched at $40 and was shut down a mere two weeks later, Marathon is reportedly set to launch with the same premium price tag.
The game is slated for a 2025 release. | Image Credit: PlayStation/YouTube But before you start sharpening your pitchforks, it’s worth noting that this decision seems to be inspired by the success of Helldivers 2 rather than a blind repetition of Concord‘s mistakes. Helldivers 2, which also launched at $40 earlier this year, proved to be a hit among players, with its chaotic, co-op gameplay winning over fans despite the premium price point.
The $40 Question: Will Marathon Sink or Swim?
Bungie and Sony might be making a risky gamble with this one. | Image Credit: PlayStation/YouTube According to reports from both The Game Post and Forbes‘ Paul Tassi, sources within Bungie have confirmed that Marathon is indeed targeting a $40 launch price. This decision was reportedly made after the free-to-play shooter The Finals failed to make a significant impact, while Helldivers 2‘s success at the same price point provided a compelling counterargument.
Related Destiny 2’s Bungie’s Layoffs Come With a Surprising Piece of Potential Good News, as a New Game is Confirmed to be in Development
Interestingly, it seems that even the spectacular failure of Concord hasn’t been enough to sway the studio’s thinking on this matter. According to Tassi’s source, the game is “simply too far along to pivot back to F2P restructuring anyway, so it will launch like this, barring anything seismic.”
Of course, the question on everyone’s mind is whether Marathon will be able to justify its premium price tag and avoid the same fate as Firewalk Studios’ hero shooter. And while details on the game are still scarce, there are a few key factors that could work in its favor.
A New Direction for the Game?
Official updates on the game are expected in the coming months. | Image Credit: PlayStation/YouTube One of the most significant changes to Marathon‘s development came with the departure of former game director Christopher Barrett, who was fired by Bungie earlier this year amidst allegations of inappropriate behavior. Barrett was replaced by Joseph Ziegler, a former senior game director on Riot Games’ Valorant, and it seems that this change in leadership has brought with it a shift in the game’s direction.
According to Tassi’s source, Ziegler’s influence has pushed the sci-fi PvP extraction shooter towards a class-based system, with each class having its own set of abilities and playstyles. Players can expect to find meaningful gear and guns during their runs, which can be further customized to suit their playstyle.
Related “Microsoft definitely dodged a bullet…”: Bungie Nearly Ended Up at PlayStation’s Competitors, and Xbox May Be Glad They Decided Against It Now
There are also hints that Ziegler may be planning to introduce himself to the community and clear up some misconceptions about the game in the coming months. With Marathon currently slated for a 2025 release window, there’s still plenty of time for Bungie to win over skeptical players and prove that the game is worth its premium price tag.
Of course, the specter of Concord’s failure still hangs over the project. With Sony reportedly putting pressure on Bungie to deliver a hit after their multi-billion dollar acquisition, the stakes couldn’t be higher. Whether Marathon will sink or swim remains to be seen, but one thing’s for sure: all eyes will be on the studio to see if it can pull off this daring stunt.
What do you think about Marathon‘s reported $40 price point? Is it a smart move by Bungie, or a recipe for disaster? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
