Arrowhead Game Studios is not holding back as they are determined to make Helldivers 2 great once again. The first major update for the game, Escalation of Freedom, turned out to be a disaster as players were left extremely disappointed. After its failure, Arrowhead devised a new plan to fix the game in just 60 days. Initially, it seemed impossible but the latest patch confirms that Arrowhead is taking players’ feedback seriously.
The latest patch improved various weapons and Stratagems, and Johan Pilestedt, Arrowhead’s CCO, has confirmed that this is just the beginning. The studio is not only focusing on reworking the existing elements but also on new content, as a new leaked picture reveals that a terrifying new Automaton unit will join the faction soon.
Leaked Image Suggests That A New Automaton Unit Is Coming To Helldivers 2
Reddit user IronS1ghts, who has shared various Helldivers 2 leaked images in the past, has shared another leaked image on the r/HellDiversLeaks subreddit. The leaker has revealed that a new unit called Automaton Assault Walker is coming to the game and will fill the gap between heavy and super-heavy units.
This unit is expected to be an Impaler equivalent, and fans suspect that it is equipped with a railgun. In terms of size, this unit is bigger than a Scout Strider and smaller than a Factory Strider. Fighting the Automaton faction is already difficult for many players and if this unit joins the faction, things will get much more chaotic.
Arrowhead Game Studios’ Plan To Save Helldivers 2 Is Working
The latest patch for Helldivers 2, 01.001.100, is exactly what the community wanted. For the past few months, the hype for Helldivers 2 has been declining at an alarming rate. Players started to criticize the game because Arrowhead nerfed various weapons and Stratagems. The game became boring and repetitive, forcing many players to uninstall the game.
On top of this, Arrowhead and Sony’s plan to impose the PSN account linking policy completely backfired. As a result, the game was bombarded with negative reviews on Steam, however, the reviews are now looking positive.
The Escalation of Freedom update was the turning point for Arrowhead as they realized they had been focusing on the wrong elements all this time. The studio decided to come up with a 60-day plan to fix the game using players’ feedback and so far, things are looking good.
The recent patch was enough to convince many players to return to the game but that’s not everything. Johan Pilestedt, Arrowhead’s CCO, recently confirmed that they will buff other items in the future patches as well.
