Harvey’s tourism treasures feature on new touring map

The hidden treasures of the Harvey region now feature on a new touring map to help travellers passing though region see what the area has to offer.

The Shire of Harvey have unveiled a new touring map featuring an up-to-date showcase of the local towns and hamlets, with a curated selection of recreational, heritage, agritourism, and foodie experiences on display.

The new map comes as as part of the Shire’s initiative aiming to put the area on the travel itineraries of everyone visiting Western Australia while promoting local tourism operators and businesses..

Shire president Michelle Campbell said she was particularly excited to get the revised map in the hands of people looking for a quick getaway.

“The Harvey Region is close to the metropolitan area and regional centres, so there’s plenty of opportunity to capture visitors interested in either a holiday or a day trip,” she said.

“We want to remind people how easy it is to visit, as well as the amazing tourism, produce products and hidden gems we have here.

“When you pick up your touring map, you will see a full overview of our coast and hinterland, all in a handy document you can pop in your pocket.”

The shire’s biggest communities are spotlighted in the new map, with Harvey, Australind and Treendale all getting special mentions, with areas less travelled such as Brunswick Junction, Myalup, Cookernup, Roelands, Benger, Binningup, and Wokalup also having their chance to shine.

The map is available at local businesses, Shire of Harvey administration offices and library, select locations around the state and can also be found on the Harvey region website.
