Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero – How to Recover Quickly After Impact Clashes

Learning how to recover in Sparking Zero from a pretty nasty Impact Clash or knockdown is crucial to staying alive in any battle, and the key to winning. It’s an incredibly priceless skill to have that can make or break your strategy.

If you’re not quick to recover, you’re leaving yourself open for some free hits, possibly even a Beam Blast if your opponent has strategically been planning for this opportunity.

This guide will walk you through all the ways you can recover in Sparking Zero, and what you need to know about handling Impact Clashes.

Impact Recovery is an invaluable skill to have in Sparking Zero.

Speed and aggression are the name of the game in Sparking Zero, even when you’re getting knocked around. Learning about Impact Recovery makes all the difference in a fight and separates the good from the great players.

There are a couple of different recovery types in the game. An Impact Recovery happens when you’ve been knocked to the ground and need to recover right before hitting a wall or the ground.

It’s an important skill to have, as it’ll prevent your opponent from capitalizing on your stunned state.

To execute one, simply push up the L analog stick at the same moment your character touches a surface. You’ll immediately recover from the hit.

If you happen to be too late and hit the ground, there’s still a way to recover. Pressing X (PS5) or A (Xbox) while moving the joystick in a certain direction will cause your character to roll out of danger and stand up faster.

Depending on your situation, you can also immediately return to your opponent using Dragon Dash by holding forward.

Tip

Take full advantage of the training area to nail the timing for an Impact Recovery.

While this isn’t as fast as the other Impact Recovery method, it’s better than nothing. And you definitely don’t want to be doing nothing.

A Quick Rundown of Impact Clashes

Prepare for the different types of Clashes you’ll face in-game.

One of the most iconic moments in any piece of Dragon Ball media is when two extremely powerful characters clash in an epic battle of strength and power. Sparking Zero lets you live out that fantasy in the form of Impact Clashes.

Impact Clashes are moments where both players perform the same action at the same time, triggering a struggle for dominance. You have different types of Impact Clashes, and each one is handled differently.

In a Speed Clash, two players clash while using Dragon Dash at the same time. On your screen, you’ll see a white ring shrink down to meet a blue circle. You’re supposed to time your button press as the ring meets the circle, like a rhythm game. Then, the clash moves into a rapid button-pressing battle.

Power Clashes are triggered when both players attempt a grab at the same time. You’ll be managing a meter that fills as you press the button prompt mentioned on-screen. Don’t overfill the bar, but keep pressing and releasing the button to balance the meter.

Then, we’ve got the epic Beam Clashes. When both players launch a Ki-based Beam simultaneously, they’ll collide and trigger a Beam Clash.

You need to manage your Ki efficiently and make sure you don’t just wildly mash the on-screen button prompt since it’ll drain it. Decide whether it’s worth sacrificing your Ki to win the Clash.

That covers the basics of everything you need to know about how to recover in Sparking Zero and the basics of Clashes. Let us know if you’d like to see more in-depth Dragon Ball guides on the subject in the comments below!
