Elden Ring: The Best Poison Build

Elden Ring: The Best Poison Build

Elden Ring is one of those games that offers players a plethora of choices, and almost all are potent choices to make. Therefore, deciding on one among those requires a thorough knowledge of that, especially, if you are trying to construct your build based on a status effect.

While there are multiple powerful builds in the game, if you are trying to inflict slow but constant damage on enemies, the Poison build is the best.

Poison is a status effect in the game, and its biggest strength is that once you poison an opponent, it will do slow damage to him, but it will constantly damage the enemy until the opponent is dead. Therefore, naturally, you are curious about this build, and we are here to help you with the best Poison build guide.

Best Poison Build Stats in Elden Ring

Elden Ring Poison Build is one of the deadliest if you use it properly.

Elden Ring has multiple extremely powerful builds, but all of them require specific stats to be used properly. Generally, most builds focus on one stat, but the Poison is an extremely strong status effect and focuses on Dexterity, Arcane, and Vigor. Well, mostly, Poison is scaled with Arcane.

However, we would rather recommend you focus on Dexterity. With this stat, players will be able to deal terrific damage to enemies.

Therefore, having Vigor and Arcane around 18 is alright, but make sure your Dexterity is much higher than these and not less than 50. Check out the table below for all the recommended stats:

Vigor 18
Arcane 18
Dexterity 50+
Faith 10
Strength 12
Intelligence  9
Endurance  20
Mind 15

The best starting class for the Poison build is always Bandit. The start that the above list shows is massively compatible with Bandits. However, if you have already started your game and find the current distribution not suitable for Poison build, you can respec your character to re-distribute the skill points.

Best Poison Build Weapons in Elden Ring

data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///ywAAAAAAQABAAACAUwAOw==
In Elden Ring players need to find Scavenger’s Curved Sword if they are looking for a strong poison build.

The most important part of a build is the selection of weapons. Poison build is primarily suitable for weapons that deal with physical damage, and in that case, players can consider choosing all kinds of katanas, swords, daggers, or anything they prefer. However, this won’t make the choice easier. So, here we will recommend you some of the most effective weapons to use.

Weapons:

  • Antspur Rapier
  • Scavenger’s Curved Sword
  • Noble Slender Swords
  • Uchigatana
  • Scorpion Bow

The first weapon that we recommend is the Antspur Rapier. This is one of the best thrusting swords that players can choose to inflict Rot and Poison status effects at the same time.

Another sword that players should consider while trying to create a strong poison build is the Scavenger’s Curved Sword. This is once again a weapon to inflict blood and poison damage simultaneously when Ash of War is attached.

There’s another weapon that you may find effective in Poison build is the Noble Slender Swords. This dual-wielding sword is scaled with Arcane which makes the weapon a good choice for Poison build.

Tip

If you are willing to choose any other weapon for your Poison build, rather than the ones we recommend, you may need to put more skill points to Faith or Intelligence.

Now if you are a fan of katanas, you must go for Uchigatana. This is one of the best katanas available in the game, and players will find this weapon comparatively earlier in the game in Deathtouched Catacombs. The best part is it has great scaling but requires low stats to wield.

If you are interested in bow and arrow for a ranged fight, you have the best option of getting Scorpion Bow to deal massive poison damage to enemies from a distance.

Best Poison Build Ash of War in Elden Ring

Poisonous Mist Ash of War will be a great help if one is up to building Poison build

Next comes the Ash of War. In Elden Ring, Ash of War plays a vital role. These specific items allow players to give their weapons certain abilities. Therefore, while trying to create a strong Poison build, players need to get the Ashes of War that will grant Poison effects.

Ash of War

  • Poisonous Mist
  • Poison Moth Flight

Poisonous Mist is an incredible Ash of War for the Poison build, but this one takes some effort to acquire. Players need to access Caelid and make their way to the southwest section of the Aeonia Swamp.

There, they need to fight a Teardrop Scarab to get this Ash of War, but this one unleashes a cloud of Poison that immediately inflicts Poison status effect and increases damage output.

Poison Moth Flight is another recommended Ash of War for this build, and this one can also be found in Caelid by defeating the Night’s Cavalry boss, whom players will locate on the road north of the Cathedral of Dragon Communion.

This Ash of War lets players perform a slash attack and instantly build a Poison effect. Both Noble Slender Swords will have this Ash of War by default.

Best Poison Build Armor in Elden Ring

Mushroom Crown must not be ignored in Elden Ring while trying to get a potent Poison build.

While attack of important, defense is also vital. Therefore, while building your character, you must focus on defense equipment, and what can be better than armor? Elden Ring doesn’t really have a specific armor for the Poison build, but still, there are a few that work better with Poison.

Armor

  • Silver Tear Mask
  • Mushroom Crown

These armors are great to choose when trying to strengthen your defense. While Silver Tear Mask is great for applying Poison and Rot, at the expense of some physical attack damage, Mushroom Crown is best for fighting enemies who are weak to Poison. As soon as the boss is affected by Poison, you will get a 10 percent bonus to damage.

These are the best deals that should not be missed when playing Elden Ring, with a Poison build.

Best Poison Build Talismas in Elden Ring

data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///ywAAAAAAQABAAACAUwAOw==
Kindred of Rot’s Exultation is another defense item to be equipped for the best Poison Build.

Talismans are another important part of a build when it comes to defense. Though Elden Ring has a never-ending list of talismans, unfortunately, only a few of them will be suitable for the Poison build. Therefore, the selections must be made carefully.

Talismans

  • Kindred of Rot’s Exultation
  • Green Turtle Talisman
  • Rotten Winged Sword Insignia
  • Lord of Blood’s Exultation

The best among these talismans is the Kindred of Rot’s Exultation because of its ability to increase attacks when the opponent is inflicted with Poison. Green Turtle Talisman is also a good choice, as it helps you regain stamina when enemies are infused with the Poison effect.

Rotten Winged Sword Insignia is once again a talisman that comes with the effect of buffing attack power with each successive attack. Finally, the Lord of Blood’s Exultation increases attack power by 20% for 20 seconds when poisoned and either the players or the opponent is bleeding.

That’s more or less everything you need to know if you are playing Elden Ring and trying to build your character on Poison.
