How To Get the Great Knife

How To Get the Great Knife

You can find all kinds of weapons to try out in Silent Hill 2 Remake, most of which are firearms, during the game’s normal progression. However, in New Game Plus mode, there are some weapons that are not obtainable in the normal game.

Once you finish the game, one of the weapons that fans most hoped to see, or at least have a reference to, is Pyramid Head’s iconic great knife. Naturally, this game features Pyramid Head’s iconic weapon, and James Sunderland can use it for a brief period.

This guide will show you how to get the Great Knife in Silent Hill 2. This particular weapon is one of the heaviest in the entire game and is very complicated to handle.

This remake has managed to impress fans, despite some initial concerns over the first images shown. It seems the audience’s perception has completely changed. Silent Hill 2 Remake has become one of the most solid games of the year.

Both critics and players alike have loved this title. Among the many things that people enjoyed about this survival horror were the number of weapons available to try out.

One of the most common questions from players was: What would happen with Pyramid Head’s iconic Great Knife? Many players eagerly anticipated the appearance of this massive weapon in Silent Hill 2, closely linked to this terrifying boss.

Regrettably, the developers chose not to include this weapon, even as a bonus for New Game Plus. The weapon is limited to a brief use in the game’s finale, which is an unusual development decision.

The weapon is limited to a brief use in the game’s finale, which is an unusual development decision.

This is an odd decision, yet it makes sense given the weapon’s sheer weight. However, the game could have accommodated other unusual weapons, such as a chainsaw, to make room for the Great Knife.

To use this weapon for the brief period it’s available—and even required for the story—you need to be inside the labyrinth in Silent Hill 2. The final game requires Pyramid Head’s Great Knife to break a wall.

One key detail about this weapon is that once you get past the wall of hands, James Sunderland will eventually find a ladder that he must climb with both hands, meaning he will drop the great knife and never be able to recover it.

This section of the labyrinth takes place near the end, right before you encounter the iconic Pyramid Head, almost at the conclusion of the story.

Once you finish the game, even if you’re in New Game Plus mode, there’s currently no way to recover the Great Knife in the game’s current state.
