Pacific Energy to build 35MW solar farm at Gold Fields’ St Ives mine near Kambalda

Pacific Energy will design and build a 35-megawatt solar farm at the St Ives gold mine as part of mining giant Gold Fields’ $296 million renewables plan for the operation south of Kambalda.

Pacific and Gold Fields on Friday said the St Ives Renewables Project, which also included 42MW of wind power, was expected to power the mine site using upwards of 70 per cent renewable energy, and would reduce the mine’s carbon emissions by about 50 per cent by 2030.
