A resurfaced video from Liam Payne shows the former One Direction singer’s reaction to his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, deciding to head back to the States from Argentina early.

“Good morning, everybody. A lovely day here in Argentina,” Liam said in the clip. “This is the breakfast table and [Kate] is just enjoying coffee and breakfast even though it’s like 1 P.M.”

Kate, 25, then chimed in and could be heard in the background saying, “Literally, we sleep in everyday until at least like 12. We’re such losers.”

“Yeah, so it’s going to be a nice day,” Liam continued before poking fun at Kate by saying, “Then you’re going home, ha ha loser, weirdo.”

Kate left on Monday, October 14, and shared a video of her flight via TikTok. In the video, she stated that she was “so ready to leave” South America because she and Liam had initially planned to only stay for five days. Those five days stretched into two weeks, and Kate was excited to get back home to her own bed.

“I hate staying in one place for too long,” she said. “I was just, like, ‘I need to go home.’”

Two days after her departure, the “Steal My Girl” singer fell from a third-story hotel balcony on Wednesday, October 16, and died at the age of 31.

A guest at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel spoke to the Daily Mail about seeing the “What Makes You Beautiful” artist in the lobby before his death and described his actions as “disturbing.”

“I came into the hotel, and he was waiting by the elevator, and it was so clear he wanted someone to recognize him,” the woman only identified as Rebecca told the outlet in an article published on Friday, October 18. “There was something a bit desperate about him.”

Rebecca said that she and her friends were trying to give Liam some privacy, but when the elevator they were all waiting for arrived, he spoke to the group.

“When the lift came, he suddenly said to us without any prompting, ‘Yes, I’m Liam!’ really drawing it out, and then said, ‘All right, come on, you lot, get in the elevator with me. I love a cuddle,’” she claimed.

While it was unclear if Liam’s fall was intentional or accidental at first, officials later confirmed that he jumped.

The communications director for the Buenos Aires Security Ministry, Pablo Policicchio, later revealed that the authorities were dispatched to the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, after a member of the hotel staff placed a call to emergency services about an “aggressive man possibly under the influence of drugs or alcohol.”

Telemundo obtained an audio clip of the call and described the man as having “overindulged on drugs and alcohol.”

“When he is conscious he breaks, he is breaking the whole room. Well, we need you to send someone, please,” the staff member explained. “The guest is in a room that has a balcony and, well, we are a little afraid that he might do something life-threatening.”

When emergency personnel arrived at the scene, Liam was already dead.

“There was no possibility of resuscitating him,” the authorities said. “He had extremely severe injuries that were incompatible with life due to the fall.”

A preliminary autopsy report showed that Liam died from a fractured skull and the “serious injuries” he sustained in the fall.
