Trooper rescues lost dog from side of I-71

MEDINA COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) — A lost dog was reunited with its owners after being found by an Ohio State Highway trooper.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol shared bodycam video from Oct. 15 when a trooper discovered a lost dog along the side of I-71 in Medina County.

The video shows the trooper pull over to the side of the highway and get out of his car before the dog walks over with its tail wagging.

The dog, later identified as Winston, got to take a ride in the backseat of the patrol car while troopers worked to locate his owners.

Through Winston’s microchip, his owners were quickly located and he was returned to his home.
