SEE THE PICS: Celebrities hit the east coast races, attending the historic Caulfield Cup and TAB Everest Day

Celebrities from across Australia, including West Coast Eagles star Harley Reid, have made their debut at horse races on the east coast.

The spring horse racing season has well and truly arrived after the Caulfield Cup and The TAB Everest Day occurred on Saturday.

The Caulfield Cup is held in Melbourne and is one of Australia’s most historic events, first kicking off in 1879.

The Melbourne race takes place over 2400 meters and a grand prize of $ 5 million will be awarded to the winner of group one.

Football star Harley Reid was spotted in his home state attending the prestigious event at Caulfield Racecourse.

West Coast’s golden boy wore a light grey plaid suit, a baby blue dress shirt, and a striped tie.

Other celebrities in attendance include Nick Russian and Jacqueline Felgate.

The world’s richest turf race, The Everest, also occurred on Saturday, and superstar jockey Craig Williams won the event after piloting Bella Nipotina to an extraordinary victory.

Bella Nipotina was able to surge clear during the home stretch after being caught three wide at the turn. Giga Kick came in second, followed by Growing Empire and then Lady of Camelot.

The iconic race has an eyewatering prize pool of $20 million and celebrities and fans flocked to the Syndey race at Royal Randwick dressed to the 9s.

The Everest was a smashing success, selling out general admission tickets four days before the race kicked off, the crowd was expected to hit 50,000 attendees, smashing last year’s 46,498.

Big Brother host Sonia Kruger, was amongst the sellout crowd, stunning the races in a white dress paired with a baby blue headband.

TV presenter Kate Waterhouse was also in attendance, wearing a floor-length white gown.

In a post to Instagram, Ms Waterhouse announced her headpiece was from Somewhere Here, her bag was from Mulberry, and her shoes were by classic designer Christian Louboutin.

Samantha Armytage broke the white trend, attending the event in a flowy black dress and glamorous headpiece.

Other celebrities attending TAB Everest Day include Grace Hayden, Lucinda Pikkat and Krissy Marsh.

This was the first year the Sydney-based Horse Race received Group-one status.
