It seems like every major release wants to become the only game you play for, at the very least, a month before you move on to the next big title. But the problem is there’s something new around every corner. But the JRPG genre doesn’t care about upcoming titles; they live in a world of their own making, and in that world, single-player RPGs span nearly one hundred hours or more. Here’s how long it takes to beat Metaphor: ReFantazio!

If you’ve set the lofty goal of beating Metaphor: ReFantazio shortly after launch, I hope you’re ready for the challenge. The monolithic RPG requires anywhere from 70-80 hours to finish a single playthrough. Some players report taking slightly less time, around 60 hours, and others report finishing in upwards of 100 hours. It depends primarily on your playstyle; how do you enjoy running through an RPG of this immense scope?

I intend to take my time and whittle away at the campaign in the spare hours I can eke out when my little one finally falls asleep, so I suspect it’ll take me months to finish the game!
