Orange Cat Astonishes Mom by Having a Snack in the Weirdest Spot

Orange cats have a certain reputation for chaos that they live up to every single time. They’re goofy! And no one knows this better than one woman, who walked into the kitchen and found her orange cat doing something super strange.

What the heck is going on here?! The orange cat’s behavior was so off that she just had to call the video’s poster, Steven Bolin, into the room.

It all started when the woman went to put the lint in the trash can. And what she found instead was totally unexpected. In the clip, she pressed the foot pedal on the can and revealed what she found. It was their orange cat! Their cat was eating away at the trash, specifically.

“You’re joking. This is a joke,” she said from off-camera. “Is this a joke?”

Nope, it wasn’t a joke. It was just their cat having a little snack, like Oscar the Grouch.

Commenters were cracking up at the orange cat’s unusual snack spot. “Your cat was looking at the lid like ‘ugh, how do I pull this thing back down,'” joked one person. “Cats like ‘scuse me ma’ams- are you joking? I’m tryina sleep here…'” someone else suggested. “The way he’s just casually snacking,” one person joked. While another commenter had a cat with their own weird food habits. “Mine used to open CABINET DOORS to steal bread because I took it off the counters after he stole a whole loaf. He eats four times a day! He is an indoor only cat! I’m not sure why he needs so much food!” they exclaimed.

Orange Cats Are Friendly

Orange cats have lots of special qualities, jokingly referred to as “orange cat behavior” by cat enthusiasts. But one thing that most people agree on is that orange cats tend to be extremely friendly. Whether that’s just confirmation bias is unclear. But many self-reported surveys seem to indicate that orange cats tend to be very affectionate kitties.

One reason as to why this might be is that the gene responsible for their orange coats is sex-linked. Meaning that there is a much higher likelihood that an orange cat will be male over female. In general, male cats tend to be friendlier than female cats — although that’s not a definitive finding.

There are several other reasons why orange cats might be friendly. They tend to live in rural areas and possibly have greater reproductive success in these settings. Orange cats tend to engage in risky behaviors that may result in death, however they tend to live in areas with less mortality risk.

It’s all to say that there’s no one reason why orange cats tend to be chummy. But we certainly like this unique quality of theirs.
