Earlier this year Virgin Australia announced it will be the first airline in the country to allow small dogs and cats onboard its flights, with the service expected to launch within the next 12 months.

The decision comes three years after the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) officially approved pets travelling in cabins back in 2021, which ultimately left it up to individual airlines to implement the change.
