WA Ballet launches David McAllister’s 2025 season featuring world premiere Butterfly Effect

If there is anything legendary Perth-born dancer and artistic director David McAllister learnt from his nearly 40 years at The Australian Ballet — including two decades as artistic director — it is the impossibility of fitting all a ballet company’s history into a single milestone year of celebration and doing it justice.

So as WA Ballet approaches its 75th anniversary in 2027, and McAllister stays on for his second and final year as the company’s guest artistic director, he is starting the commemorations through the programming of season 2025.
