Local AFLW products shine bright on the big stage in season 2024

Local stars Julia Teakle, Roxanne Roux and Mim Strom continue to prove themselves on the big stage in the AFLW in season 2024.

Teakle is now mid way through her third season with Port Adelaide.

The forward showed improvement last year, kicking 5.2 in her six games after kicking 1.2 in six games during her rookie year.

After overcoming a foot injury last season after round 2, Teakle bounced back having a breakout season, managing to claim the Coaches Award in 2023.

SO far this year, the Northampton product has managed to back up her outstanding performances last season with some impressive on-field displays in season 2024, with the former Ram booting eight goals in just five games.

The Mid West star also walked away with an impressive bag of four goals in round two in a 40-point thumping of the Western Bulldogs on the hallowed turf of the MCG.

Meanwhile, Dongra product Roux, has made a comeback after a hand injury that saw her miss the first five rounds of the 2024 season. The former Fremantle Docker made the cross-town move to the West Coast Eagles in the 2023 trade period.

Roux is set to be one to look out for in the back half of the AFLW season as she bounces back from injury in her new colours.

Stamping her authority on the competition in season 2024, Exmouth talent Strom has continued to show why she is beginning to be considered one of the competition’s most valuable players.

After coming off an impressive pole of votes in the Best and Fairest at Fremantle, placing third, as well as earning a spot in the All Australian squad, Strom has continued to from strength to strength as the premier ruck of the competition.

Bursting out the blocks in round one against Essendon at Windy Hill, Strom finished with 17 disposals as well as breaking the hit-out record with a staggering 48.
