A lot of significant things happened in Perth 60 years ago. Dumas House was under construction and the finishing touches were going on Perth’s first American-style shopping centre at Floreat Forum.

Elvis dominated the wireless, while locals flocked to pancake tossing competitions, a popular recreational pursuit held at Boans department store.
