Alleged drug dealer in Green Bay arrested after authorities seize hundreds of grams of drugs, facing 15+ charges

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – A Green Bay man is facing over 15 charges and had his cash bond set at $50,000 following a drug investigation in Brown County.

According to a criminal complaint obtained by Local 5, 49-year-old Dennis Johnson was officially charged with multiple crimes related to drug possession and trafficking. The charges stem from multiple controlled buys from Johnson.

In some of the controlled buys, Johnson allegedly used ‘runners’ to deliver drugs on his behalf to try to avoid police detection. The complaint says that Johnson was the primary suspect in this investigation.

After the controlled buys, authorities executed a search warrant at a residence on North Webster Avenue on September 23. Johnson was eventually taken into custody and removed from the residence.

Below is a breakdown of what was seized during the search warrant:

  • 139.73 grams of cocaine

  • 40.72 grams of cocaine-base

  • 15.64 grams of fentanyl

  • 59.20 grams of methamphetamine

  • Multiple pieces of drug paraphernalia

  • Three handguns

  • $1,874 of U.S. currency

The complaint says that the items seized during the warrant are consistent with distributor amounts.

Authorities interviewed someone affiliated with Johnson who claimed that he was dealing drugs, according to the complaint.

Johnson is charged with:

  1. Deliver Cocaine (>1G but <=5G), Repeater

  2. Maintaining a Drug Trafficking Place – As a party to a crime, repeater

  4. Bail Jumping, Repeater

  9. Possession With Intent To Deliver Methamphetamine – As a party to a crime, Repeater

  10. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – As a party to a crime, Repeater

  11. Possession of a Firearm by a Felon – As a party to a crime, Repeater

  12. Possession of a Firearm by a Felon – As a party to a crime, Repeater

  13. Possession of a Firearm by a Felon – As a party to a crime, Repeater

  14. Bail Jumping, Repeater

  15. Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine (>40G) – As a party to a crime, Repeater – Asset Forfeiture

  16. Possession with Intent to Deliver Fentanyl (>10-50G) – As a party to a crime, Repeater

Court records show that Johnson was in court for his initial appearance on September 25. He has his cash bond set at $50,000. He is scheduled to be back in court on October 4 for an adjourned initial appearance.
