Works on the long-awaited redevelopment of the Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital emergency department in Nedlands will finally begin next year, as increasing demand on the health facility continues to stretch resources.

Four years after the redevelopment of Charlie’s ED was first mooted by the WA Labor Government, tenders have finally been called for the project which is expected to cost around $50 million.
