After a lot of anticipation and hype, PS5 Pro is finally here. Pro versions have always been a subject of speculation regarding their capabilities, extra features, upgrades when the PS5 launched, and most importantly, prices, as compared to their base variants.

Now, this upgraded console is expected to perform a lot better considering its huge price point. And right now this is exactly what an upcoming action role-playing title from Capcom needs because of its utterly poor performance on the PS5.

As far as gaming is concerned, smoothness has always been the first priority. That’s why most people prefer to play games at least at 60 FPS. However, in consoles, there are some games that are capped at 30 FPS to maintain their visual fidelity. But things go out of hand if that low FPS becomes unstable.

Monster Hunter Wilds is running pretty badly on base PS5: No performance mode, unstable 30 FPS, various texture issues.

That is what is happening with Monster Hunter Wilds. Recently, Chinese content creator Dog Feeding Club played the upcoming title in the demo stands at the ongoing Tokyo Game Show 2024. However, his experience of playing the game on PS5 was horrible:

PS5 is running at 30 FPS, the demo doesn’t have performance mode. The game stutters during intensive FX scenes, the texture quality is underwhelming, some rocks completely miss textures. Frame rate is rather low during combat.

The predecessor of this game, Monster Hunter World, was a groundbreaking title. To maintain that legacy in Monster Hunter Wilds, Capcom has a huge task ahead of its launch on February 28, 2025.

Not having a performance mode in games of the new age is quite unacceptable, but as this is just a demo, we hope the developers will leave no stone unturned to polish this highly anticipated title.

With a huge price jump of over $250 from PS5, fans will be expecting some promising and effective upgrades in the PS5 Pro. Besides a new striped look, the upcoming console is coming up with an upgraded GPU. The pro variant will be 67% faster than the base variant as far as the GPU is concerned.

Sony has also increased the memory by 28%. As a combined result, games will run 45% faster than PS5, with more details and improved frame rates. However, despite this lot of upgrades, the Pro version will not be for everyone.

Along with it, the Pro model will feature an advanced ray tracing process that will be cast at double or even triple the speed than the base variant. PS5 Pro will debut Sony’s PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution technology, which will be used for AI upscaling and can be adjudged as a competitor to Nvidia’s DLSS or AMD’s FSR.

Seeing all the major upgrades, fans can hope for a way better experience of Monster Hunter Wilds on the PS5 Pro. But this will not be the end, because Capcom has to optimize it for the PS5 fans as well, because they are not going to upgrade their console for playing just one game.
