Sky: Children of the Light kicks off the Season of Radiance to usher in 2025 with a splash of colour

  • Sky: Children of the Light is kicking off 2025 with a splash of colour
  • They’re ushering in the new Season of Radiance update
  • It adds new content and a dye workshop to let you recolour your cosmetics

Thatgamecompany are set to kick off the year with their first major update to hit all-ages MMO Sky: Children of the Light. And if you’ve ever felt that it was lacking in colour, you’ll be glad to know that Season of Radiance is adding all the chromatic features you could ask for.

To start, the biggest addition is perhaps that of the new Dye Workshop which you can find in the Aviary Village. The Radiance Guide will give you an overview of how you can use dyes to recolour cosmetics and give yourself a real technicolour makeover.

It’s not just some cosmetic splashes of colour either. New Dark Plants need to be harvested to make the dyes and are sprouting all over the kingdom, meanwhile, you can also mix dyes to create interesting hues. And if you’re lacking in cosmetics new hairstyles, capes, outfits and more will give you plenty to test these dyes out on.

All the colours of the rainbow

The new Season of Radiance event will kick off on January 20th. And while I’m surprised that it’s taken Thatgamecompany so long to add something like this I think it’ll add a new dimension of fun for players new and old alike to engage in.

Sky: Children of the Light is but one of many great indie releases that are gracing mobile but which many people don’t know about. If you want to dig into some great releases from independent studios, check out our list of the top 20 best indie mobile games to find your new faves!
