Futari Solo Camp confirmed for July release

2025’s first news of a new anime adaptation is about camping and seems like this one will be a relaxing good time.

Anime News Network confirmed on New Year’s Day that a television anime adaptation of Yūdai Debata’s Futari Solo Camp (Solo Camping for Two) manga will premiere in July 2025.

The camping-themed anime uploaded its first visual on the anime’s official X account.

Pony Canyon released a teaser trailer of the anime on their YouTube channel with English captions available.

Debata also drew an illustration in celebration of the anime adaptation. The drawing was posted on the anime’s X account.

The main cast have been confirmed for the anime which stars Daiki Hamano (I Parry Everything) as 34-year-old camper Gen Kinokura and Mizuki Niizaki as 20-year-old college student Shizuku Kusano. This marks Niizaki’s first time voicing a female lead character.

The camping anime will be directed by Jun Hatori (Too Cute Crisis) at SynergySP with Aya Satsuki (A Girl and Her Guard Dog) in charge of series composition. Satsuki will also be co-writing the script together with Mitsuho Seta (Belle key animator) and Ōka Tanisaki (Demon Lord, Retry!). Character designs will be handled by Tomomi Shimazaki (Mr. Villain’s Day Off).

Background art will be directed by Hiroyuki Hasegawa (Detective Conan: Conan and Heiji and the Vanished Boy) and Haruko Seto (Taisho Otome Fairy Tale) will be responsible for color design. Director of photography is handled by Hiroki Tsubouchi (Somali and the Forest Spirit) with Daiki Hachimaki (Tonari no Yōkai-san) as sound director alongside Shōta Kowashi (Pui Pui Molcar) who will be composing the music.

Anime News Network describes the seinen manga’s synopsis as such:

The manga follows a 34-year-old solo camper named Gen Kinokura who prefers his own company and no one else when camping. He encounters Shizuku Kusano, a 20-year-old absolute beginner at camping. The two somehow ended up “solo camping” together.

Futari Solo Camp’s manga was serialized by Debata starting from October 9, 2018 and is now published through Kodansha’s Morning magazine. As of now, three million copies of all 19 volumes of the manga have been published by Kodansha. Moreover, a live-action series will premiere this year on January 9.

As of now, no English publisher has picked up the manga yet, so people might have to wait for the anime as it releases in July 2025.
