Hurricane Helene is showing its impact in East Tennessee.

The region has seen heavy rainfall, severe weather advisories and windy conditions as the storm passes through. Additionally, flash flood emergencies were declared in Mountain City, Shouns, Erwin, Banner Hill and Roan Mountain on Friday afternoon.

How much rain has East Tennessee received?

This data from the National Weather Service represents the maximum amount of rain each county saw between Wednesday, Sept. 25, and Friday morning, the three days most impacted by Hurricane Helene.

Roane County had the least amount of rain, according to the National Weather Service. Sevier County saw the heaviest rainfall in the area, with around 10 inches of rain in the past three days. The area saw flash flood warnings on Friday morning due to the excessive rainfall.
