2 injured in plane crash Friday near Lubbock Executive Airpark

Two people were injured in a plane crash near the Lubbock Executive Airpark Friday, according to county officials.

A Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said the agency received a call about a plane crash near East 114th Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard (County Road 7300 and County Road 2500) around 10:30 a.m. Friday. This is just adjacent to the Lubbock Executive Airpark.

Emergency personnel respond to a small plane crash at the Lubbock Executive Airport that injured two people on Jan 3, 2025 in Lubbock, Texas.

The pilot and passenger in the plane — Jeremy Wilson and Lacie Wilson, both 43 — were both injured in the crash, the sheriff’s office confirmed. They were taken by ambulance to University Medical Center for treatment. Officials did not immediately indicate the severity of the injuries.

Sheriff’s officials are asking the public to avoid the area as the situation develops.

Additional details, including what led up to the crash, were not immediately available. The Texas Department of Public Safety, the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate, the sheriff’s office said.

This is a developing story. We will update this page as we learn more.
