Inmate escapes from Northern California jail

(FOX40.COM) — Plumas County law enforcement is searching for an inmate described as “dangerous” who escaped from the county jail Friday morning.

According to the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office, Caleb Duerr escaped from the jail around 8 a.m. The jail is in Quincy, about 160 miles northeast of Sacramento.

Duerr was last seen near an O’Reilly’s store in Quincy, the agency said.

The agency shared a picture of Duerr, describing him as age 39, measuring 6 feet 1 inch, weighing around 165 pounds, and having brown hair and blue eyes.

Duerr was wearing dark blue jail-issued clothes at the time of his escape, the sheriff’s office said.

The agency asks anyone who sees Duerr to call 911.
