A spike in children needing urgent hospital care after near-drownings has prompted a fresh warning for parents to pay attention to their kids as the weather warms up.

Exclusive statistics obtained by The West Australian revealed a 53 per cent rise in the number of children and adolescents admitted to WA public hospitals after near-drownings.
