Blizzard has released remastered versions of Warcraft 1 and 2

Blizzard has simultaneously announced and released “fully remastered versions” of Warcraft 1 and 2.

The titles were revealed during an ongoing Warcraft 30th Anniversary Direct stream.

“These remasters have brand new hand drawn visuals that capture the original art style from each game, and you’ll be able to swap between the original graphics and the remastered versions in real time,” said Brad Chan, senior manager of Warcraft RTS.

Blizzard has “added modern controls” for Warcraft 1, while both games include various UI and UX improvements.

The studio is also releasing Warcraft 3: Reforged Patch 2.0, which “overhauls the environments and lighting and revamps the user interface”, according to Chan. “In addition, we are uprezzing all classic Warcraft 3 assets to HD.”

All three titles are available as part of the Warcraft Remastered Battle Chest, which is priced at $39.99.
